The Women's Twenty will set priorities in its work
On September 19, one of the main events of the fourth Eurasian Women's Forum, the open meeting of the Women's Twenty, will take place in the reading room of the Tauride Palace. The event will be held under the motto "Going Global: Women's Organizations and Multilateral Institutions."
Chairperson of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko: "The search for answers to modern challenges that concern humanity, to global issues in the economy, ecology, science - cannot do without a woman's perspective. Active participation in global processes of the W20, which has proven itself as an effective tool for consolidating the efforts of women leaders, allows us to promote creative initiatives and develop specific, practical solutions at the international and national levels. I am confident that the session of the "Women's Twenty" will become one of the central, key events of the Fourth Eurasian Women's Forum."
The meeting participants will discuss the priorities of the Women's Twenty in 2024-2025 and how they relate to the tasks of major international associations such as the UN, the ASEAN Confederation of Women's Organizations and the Eurasian Women's Forum. There will be an exchange of views on issues of actively promoting women's initiatives participating in integration associations and consolidating their efforts to enhance the role of international women's interaction at the global level.
Victoria Panova, Head of the BRICS Expert Council, Vice-Rector of the National Research University Higher School of Economics, Russia's Sherpa in the Women's Twenty (W20) : "The relevance of the Eurasian Women's Forum agenda is beyond doubt, especially in the context of modern challenges. We see how women's leadership changes the rules of the game in society, and the desire to actively participate in global processes is not just a necessity, it is our duty. It is important to create platforms for dialogue and joint action. Interaction and cooperation within the framework of the open meeting of the Women's Twenty will allow us to combine efforts, offer more equitable and sustainable solutions in the economic, social, and political spheres that will help women around the world not only to declare their rights, but also to actively shape the future."
The meeting will be attended by members of the W20 delegation Graciela Nelida Adan (Argentina), Narnia Bohler-Mueller (South Africa), Satoko Kono (Japan), Deputy Head of the Expert Department of the Presidential Executive Office of the Russian Federation in the G20, Svetlana Lukash, coordinator of the project of the Council of the Eurasian Women's Forum "Climate Initiatives and Carbon Regulation" Elena Myakotnikova, co-chair of the W20 in Brazil Janaina Nolasco Gama, Sandia Virsin Purecha (India), Chu Si Anderson (Australia), Gina Diez Barroso (Mexico), founding president of the W20, member of the Presidential Council of the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Turkey "Kagider" Gulden Türktan, as well as vice-president of the Indonesian Women's Congress Uli Silalahi Hadriani.
"Women's contribution to the work to preserve and improve the environment reflects a common understanding of the need to move towards a more environmentally friendly lifestyle. By leading the process of changing consumer behavior, women are becoming the driving force behind the sustainable development of various sectors of the economy. Increasing the number of our like-minded people is becoming one of the priorities in the ESG development strategy of any company," said Elena Myakotnikova, a member of the Women's Twenty delegation from the Russian Federation and coordinator of the Eurasian Women's Forum Council's project "Climate Initiatives and Carbon Regulation . "
During its work, W20 has become an effective tool for interaction between women and world leaders. Initiatives proposed by women, thanks to W20, serve as an impetus for changes in different countries.
The Eurasian Women's Forum will be held for the fourth time. The organizers of the Forum are the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the CIS. The operator of the Forum is the Roscongress Foundation. Rusal is a partner of the Women's Twenty meeting.
