Hundreds of women entrepreneurs from all over the country submitted applications for the EWF Council competition

The acceptance of applications for the competition of the EJF Council “Heroines of the New Time”, which was held on the social network VKontakte, has been completed. Its participants did not fill out traditional questionnaires, but talked about themselves and their business in VK clips and posts. Many approached the task creatively, collected good views from the audience and thereby attracted attention to their activities even before the results were made public.

More than 350 women submitted applications for the competition, they shot 100 vertical clips, made 300 publications with emotional texts and videos. Some participants published applications in two formats at once.

As shown by viewing applications for the hashtag #Heroines of the New Time, Russian women are not afraid to start their own business from scratch, literally in the kitchen or “on their knees” - if, for example, we are talking about soap making or creating jewelry. Women are looking for opportunities for development, like-minded people and investors.

Women head start-ups and established companies in a variety of niches, offering all kinds of products and services: a confectionery for diabetics, a multiplication tournament (intellectual games), a children's forest academy (they teach natural history and forest trekking skills), a center for the adaptation of injured and shelter animals to life with new owners, a travel agency to hard-to-reach corners of Russia, a school for studying the Korean language, etc.

Among the applicants is the creator of a landscape workshop with a team of 12 people; founder of a creative space in the building of a former mica factory; the author of the overalls brand and many other women who are confidently moving towards their goals.

By August 15, the expert jury will select the 7 best authors who will receive invitations to the fourth Eurasian Women’s Forum. This will open up new horizons for the winners, introduce them to other “heroines of the new time,” and give them a chance to develop and scale up their ideas. The EWF Council will assist in the development of promising projects.
