Issues of international cooperation of women in the light industry were discussed at the fourth Eurasian Women's Forum

"In today's economic conditions, it is necessary to take into account the best practices in the light industry to form products of future demand. It is the exchange of experience and open dialogue between production participants that allows us to approach investment issues and long-term planning in a strategically verified manner," - this is the opinion reached by participants in the thematic session "International Cooperation of Women in the Development of Light Industry", which took place on September 19 in the discussion hall of the Tauride Palace.

The meeting was moderated by Alla Sbitneva, Executive Director of the Corporate Business Development Department of Sberbank PJSC . The discussion participants included Nadezhda Averina , Director of Pervaya Tkatskaya Fabrika LLC (Nizhny Novgorod Region, Russian Federation), Anna Apenko , Vice President of the Association of Light Industry Enterprises of the Republic of Kazakhstan , Tatyana Besedina , Executive Director of BTL EXPERT, Elegant Factory , Co-Coordinator of the Women in Light Industry Project of the Council of the Eurasian Women's Forum, General Director of Shuiskie Sitsy OJSC, Anna Bogadelyna , Deputy General Director of Yun Chou Technology Company ARVM (China), Zvin Wang, Chairman of the Bellegprom Concern (Republic of Belarus) , Tatyana Lugina , Partner of Pacific Global Exports Inc. (Republic of India) Gita Sabharwal , Director of the Department of Light Industry and Forestry Complex Vera Khmyrova and Head of the Office of Foreign Affairs of the Government of the City of Hohhot (China) Hou Zhihui .

Before the start of the conversation, Alla Sbitneva expressed confidence that the contact between colleagues from different countries and different areas of the light industry is due to the commonality of problems and issues facing all its participants: "Regardless of the country, the light industry goes through approximately the same stages of its development and faces the same challenges. This is very good for our discussion, since the commonality factor allows us to speak the same language today."

The meeting discussed partnership, including in the area of purchasing equipment and raw materials. For example, China, as a country with advanced technologies in the light industry, supplies more than 50% of the world market with products from light industry enterprises, but at the same time it is the leader in mechanical engineering. At the same time, Russian, Belarusian and Indian enterprises are actively competing on the world stage. "Today, Belarus exports light industry products to more than 100 countries. Russia traditionally remains our main sales market, but now we are working on our presence in Pakistan, Nepal and African countries," said Tatyana Lugina .

Uzbekistan and Belarus are countries that effectively use their own raw material base: cotton and flax, which allows them to compete in the world markets in the field of raw material supplies. In Russia, the development potential of the chemical industry and the forestry complex creates certain conditions for the implementation of large-scale investment projects in the light industry. For example, Vera Khmyrova in her speech touched upon the issue of cooperation between the Chuvash Republic and the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of raw material supplies.

At the meeting, colleagues also spoke a lot about the role of women in the development of the light industry. In particular, Anna Bogadelina noted the advantages of a flexible approach to doing business, which is typical of many women entrepreneurs. Thanks to it, Russia has been able to significantly increase the production of textile products over the past few years and act as a worthy replacement for the departed foreign clothing brands.
