Valentina Matvienko proposed establishing the title of Ambassador of the Eurasian Women's Forum.
"We need to give this honorary and responsible title to the most active and regular participants," said the head of the Federation Council at the plenary session of the IV Eurasian Women's Forum. Valentina Matviyenko expressed confidence that the forum participants will take with them its energy, new knowledge, new contacts. Many become conductors of the forum's ideas in their countries, in their communities, she noted.
Valentina Matvienko also stated that it is no coincidence that the main theme of the Forum is “Women for Strengthening Trust and Global Cooperation”:
"It is women who must be at the forefront of building a more just and equal, multipolar world order. This process is gaining momentum, it is inevitable, it can no longer be stopped."
The head of the upper house emphasized that traditionally the focus of the EWF is on issues of ecology, a healthy society and social well-being, the preservation of traditional family values, and the spiritual and cultural heritage of our peoples.
The Speaker of the Upper House believes that despite linguistic and cultural differences, women from all over the world understand and trust each other perfectly, and share common goals and values.
Valentina Matviyenko stated that our country has achieved significant success in supporting women's initiatives, in the participation of women in all spheres of society, as well as in all sectors of the modern economy.
"In the Russian Federation, the share of women among entrepreneurs in the social sphere has already reached ninety percent, in the service sector - fifty-eight percent. Women make up the majority in the rapidly growing creative industry sector. The index of female entrepreneurial activity at the end of last year approached seventy-four percent, which was the highest figure in the last ten years."
The Head of the Federation Council also noted the formation of industry women's associations that help implement socially oriented corporate policies, combine a successful career and start a family, and promote the professional growth of female workers in various industries. She stated that Russia would be happy to share its experience with all foreign participants of the Forum.
Following the forum, a substantive document will be adopted with a women's perspective on key issues of global development, which will be sent to all international organizations and governments of the world.
Open women's dialogue, Matvienko drew the attention of those present, is intended to become an important part of changes for the better, contributing to the humanization of international politics and the solution of the most pressing social and humanitarian problems.
"Today, the Tauride Palace is home to a truly global majority. The Fourth Eurasian Women's Forum was attended by representatives from 126 countries and more than 20 leading international organizations. This is an absolute record for the entire history of the forum," the speaker said.
According to her, many participants had to travel thousands of kilometers. If you add up all the kilometers that women traveled to participate in the EWF, you can circle our planet several times.
The unifying energy of the forum makes us all stronger, and the voices of its participants are becoming louder, Matvienko emphasized.
