On the eve of the fourth Eurasian Women's Forum, the “Woman Can” program will be launched in 15 regions of Russia

“A Woman Can” is implemented by the Committee for the Development of Women’s Entrepreneurship “OPORA RUSSIA” with the support of the Council of the Eurasian Women’s Forum.

According to Nadiya Cherkasova, the “Woman Can” program is dedicated to studying the basics of financial literacy, entrepreneurship and marketing; familiarization with government forms of support for entrepreneurship. During the training process, women will learn how to choose a niche for a business and gain experience working with marketplaces. In order to take part in the program, you need to provide documents confirming the existence of a legal entity or registration as an individual entrepreneur and undergo an interview.

— There are no age restrictions in the program. Our program is called “A Woman Can” because we believe that a woman at any age can start her own business,” Cherkasova said.

This year the pilot project was completed, and now the program will be scaled to 15 cities, including Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don, Ufa, Khabarovsk, Ulyanovsk, Omsk, Tyumen, Chelyabinsk, Voronezh, Stavropol, Volgograd, Vladivostok. At this stage, between 700 and 1000 women will be trained. At the end of the program, they must present a business project, the quality of which will be assessed by the jury. Each region will have its own winner - he will receive a grant of 100 thousand rubles for the development of his business, as well as the right to participate in the fourth Eurasian Women's Forum.

— Over the 9 years, starting from the first Eurasian Women’s Forum, which launched the “Development of Women’s Entrepreneurship” project, the share of women among entrepreneurs has increased from 25% to 44%, and the index of women’s entrepreneurial activity was 74% at the end of last year. This is the result of a lot of systematic work to involve women in the economy, in which the Council of the Eurasian Women’s Forum participates along with partners. We consider the “Woman Can” program to be effective - it not only gives women knowledge and introduces them to the entrepreneurial community, but they also receive financial support that stimulates business development,” said the Chairperson of the EWF Council, Senator Galina Karelova.

The senator said that at the fourth Eurasian Women's Forum (September 18-20, St. Petersburg), women's participation in the economy will be discussed within the framework of a special platform “Women in the new economic reality: new technologies and innovations.” She noted that it was at the Eurasian Women's Forums that organizations such as the Eurasian Association of Women Regional Leaders, the BRICS Women's Business Alliance, the International Club of Winners and Participants of the Women's Entrepreneurial Projects Competition in APEC, and the International Council for Support and Development were created to support women in the economy. women in industry and technology, etc.

— These organizations continue to actively work and support women’s entrepreneurial projects, helping to increase “women’s contribution” to the economy. I have no doubt that participation in the fourth Eurasian Women’s Forum will open up new prospects for the winners of the “Woman Can” program,” Karelova said.
