V. Matvienko: We want every person to be able to receive quality medical care

The Speaker of the Federation Council familiarized herself with the work of the “Saint Panteleimon” train, which houses a clinical diagnostic center, as well as with the project of the EWF Council “Donation is in our blood.”

Chairperson of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko took part in the presentation of the interactive platform "Expedition to Medicine of the Future". The event took place in the Tauride Palace in St. Petersburg as part of the fourth Eurasian Women's Forum.

The site presents the latest Russian health-saving technologies, which are being developed by the project of the Council of the EWF "Women's Health - Welfare of the Nation". The exhibition was organized by the company "RZhD-Medicine" within the framework of the thematic platform "Women for a Healthy Society and Social Welfare". One of the main exhibits is a model of the carriage of the mobile train "Saint Panteleimon", in which the clinical diagnostic center is located.

Valentina Matvienko got acquainted with the route and equipment of the medical train, and also communicated via video link with doctors working, in particular, in Severobaikalsk.

The speaker of the Federation Council noted the uniqueness of the clinical diagnostic center. "This is the first and only officially registered medical train in the world. The train traveled along the BAM, it can go to the smallest villages. Thus, high-tech assistance becomes available to everyone."

Valentina Matviyenko thanked the doctors for their loyalty to the profession and for putting their hearts into making sure people are healthy. She also expressed words of gratitude to the management of Russian Railways, the Ministry of Health, and the Federal Medical and Biological Agency.

The Chairperson of the Federation Council recalled that, on the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation, a large amount of funding is allocated for the implementation of major programs in the healthcare sector. "FAPs are being built throughout the country. This is a great support for people. We want every person to be able to receive quality medical care," she emphasized. Valentina Matviyenko also recalled that with the assistance of the Federation Council, a hospital in Tynda was restored.

"Saint Panteleimon" began its route in August of this year. The train is designed to provide assistance to patients in remote areas of the country, the carriages house laboratory and therapeutic rooms, departments of radiation and functional diagnostics.

Valentina Matvienko also visited the stand of the team of the EWF Council project "Donation is in our blood". Here, each visitor can record a video message with an appeal for donation, from these videos the organizers will put together a huge "digital heart".

The project “Donation is in our blood” was created this year, its goal is to take a new look at the role of women both in the process of this type of assistance to people and in its organization.

The Chairman of the Federation Council and the head of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency Veronika Skvortsova launched a donor flash mob "Fill your heart with life" at the EWF. "Donation is important and simple," said Veronika Skvortsova.

The Fourth Eurasian Women's Forum is taking place from September 18 to 20 in St. Petersburg. The organizers are the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States. The operator for the preparation and holding of the event is the Roscongress Foundation.
