The first meeting of the editorial committee to prepare the Final Document of the IV Eurasian Women's Forum took place

The first meeting of the editorial committee to prepare the Final Document of the Fourth Eurasian Women's Forum took place. The event was chaired by Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev.

The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Council of the Eurasian Women's Forum, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Federal Structure, Regional Policy, Local Government and Northern Affairs Galina Karelova; First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Legislation and State Building Lyubov Glebova; member of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Elena Afanasyeva, member of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy Yulia Lazutkina.

“The importance of such a large-scale and authoritative forum as the EWF lies not only in the opportunity to discuss key topics on the global agenda, but also in the signals it gives to the world, in the conclusions and recommendations that the final message of the forum will contain,” noted Konstantin Kosachev.

The Vice-Speaker of the Federation Council emphasized that many initiatives expressed in the final documents of previous forums have been successfully implemented, including the creation of the BRICS Women's Business Alliance.

According to Galina Karelova, during the time between the forums a good foundation has been created for further joint actions.

“A women’s community has been formed, which has done a lot to implement the recommendations of the previous forum and is actively participating in the modern women’s agenda. We build our relationships on trust, on concrete actions that benefit women and the countries in which they live,” said Galina Karelova.

She expressed confidence that the document that will be developed following the results of the Fourth Eurasian Women’s Forum will reflect the desire to build trust, peace, constructive cooperation and positive development.

The Eurasian Women's Forum is the largest authoritative international platform for discussing the role of women in modern society.

The first forum took place in 2015 and acquired a global character, demonstrating the growing role of women in strengthening peace and security and solving important socio-economic and humanitarian problems.

The organizers of the forum are the Federation Council and the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member States.

The fourth Eurasian Women's Forum will take place in St. Petersburg on September 18–20, 2024.
