Agreement on the promotion of pharmaceutical substances and the establishment of a joint venture between Russian and Indian companies

Within the framework of the fourth Eurasian Women's Forum, an agreement was signed between the Russian company Velpharm LLC and Swati Spentose Pvt. Ltd (India) on the promotion of pharmaceutical substances Heparin sodium and Enoxaparin sodium produced by Velpharm LLC in the Republic of India and the creation of a joint venture in the territory of the Russian Federation to organize the production of pharmaceutical substances.

The following exchanged signatures: Lyudmila Ivanovna Shcherbakova, President of the Velpharm Group, and Ms Swati V Jajodia, Founder and President of Swati Spentose Pvt Ltd.

Lyudmila Shcherbakova : “We are very proud of this agreement, because India is one of the strongest manufacturers of pharmaceutical substances in the world, and the fact that they are interested in the substance that we produce is quite a unique case. We are very pleased with this cooperation, we are ready to supply the Indian market with a substance of Russian production. At the same time, during the negotiations, we agreed that we will build a plant in Russia together, where we will produce other substances, since the company headed by Ms. Swati is very well known in the pharmaceutical substances market. They have technologies for a large number of synthesis. We are very interested in this cooperation.”
“First of all, this is cooperation between the BRICS countries: Russia and India. We will represent Velpharm and distribute the unique molecules of Heparin sodium and Enoxaparin sodium in India. This is a very large market, and we will provide technologies and the production process for Velpharm to create drugs for diabetes, which many people suffer from. “That is, in this way we will share competencies with each other,” Swati Spentose noted for her part .

The ceremony ended with warm embraces between the representatives of our countries.

The Fourth Eurasian Women's Forum is taking place from September 18 to 20 in St. Petersburg. The organizers of the EWF are the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States. The operator for the preparation and holding of the event is the Roscongress Foundation.
