Chairman of the EWF Council Galina Karelova held a session in Kazan, which will be included in the schedule of official events of the IV Eurasian Women's Forum
The session of the Council of the Eurasian Women's Forum “Women for maintaining health: advanced ideas, projects, technologies that unite countries” took place within the framework of the XV International Forum “Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum”.
Welcoming the participants, Chairman of the EWF Council, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Federal Structure, Regional Policy, Local Government and Northern Affairs Galina Karelova noted: “Joint projects of women provide additional impetus for uniting countries in solving common problems aimed at increasing active life expectancy population, improving its quality.”
At the meeting, measures were discussed to actively involve women in popularizing initiatives to strengthen public health, scaling innovations in this area in Russia and the countries of the Islamic world, as well as cooperation in the introduction of new health-saving technologies and the development of medical tourism.
On the eve of the session, there was also a meeting between the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the moderators of the key sessions of the “Women’s View” track, which takes place as part of the “XV International Forum “Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum”. Participants discussed specific problems and topics that were raised at the Forum.
“A very useful, constructive conversation took place about the contribution that women can make to the development of international cooperation. Both our meeting with the head of the republic and the work of the Forum in general confirmed that our countries have many advanced ideas, projects, technologies that deserve attention and, thanks to joint efforts, can work more effectively for the common good,” Galina Karelova shared her impressions.
The Alliance of Business Women of the Republic of Moldova presented a folklore wedding ceremony. The public association "Belarusian Women's Union" and the ensemble "Khoroshki" showed folk costumes and wedding headdresses of the 18th century.
She noted that the possibility of adapting them for use in another country is of mutual interest and this could become the basis for new areas of interaction. In particular, the interest of those present was aroused by the messages of the participants of the EWF session, dedicated to initiatives aimed at popularizing a responsible attitude towards one’s own health in Russia, the project of the EWF Council “Preventive Shield of the Country”, the role of women in Kazakhstan in the development of primary health care, the experience of creating and operating the Fund social responsibility in South Africa, the activities of the International Forum of BRICS countries in the field of exchange of experience in the field of healthcare, the development of medical tourism in Turkey.
During the session, an Agreement on cooperation was also signed between the Bashkir regional branch of the all-Russian public organization of small and medium-sized businesses “Support of Russia” and the Public Association “International Global Women’s Leadership” (Kazakhstan) on the exchange of educational programs and mentoring practices.
Galina Karelova emphasized that the session of the EWF Council “Women for health: advanced ideas, projects, technologies that unite countries” is included in the schedule of official events of the IV Eurasian Women’s Forum, which will be held in September in St. Petersburg. She expressed confidence that the session participants will become guests of the EWF.
