The IV Eurasian Women's Forum will host the international festival "Traditions and Cultural Diversity"

The festival will feature experts who preserve and popularize the heritage of the peoples of Russia and the world, including small ethnic groups, government officials and active women representing regions — winners of the EWF Council competition “Women for the Preservation of Traditions”. They will discuss the role of women in preserving and promoting traditions at various levels — personal, family, corporate and state.

Interesting presentations are expected from ethnopedagogues - specialists who educate children from indigenous families and seek new approaches to interest them in the culture and customs of their ancestors.

Enthusiasts from the regions who have extended the work of preserving intangible values beyond the family circle will come to the festival. Among them is Tatyana Shkalygina, the leader of the Nivkh ensemble "Kekh" from the village of Chir-Unvd on Sakhalin. She organized the community "Koyvongun" (Larch), to which she belongs, won a grant in 2009 and built an open-air museum - a Nivkh camp.

Festival participants will hear the sounds of the kai-komus, tuur and other musical instruments little known to the general public, get acquainted with the traditional Shor throat singing "Kai" and wedding ceremonies of the Telengits of the Altai Mountains, take part in a master class on the dances of the peoples of the North, see clothes made of fish skin and Vepsian cuisine.

The festival will become a memorable frame for the thematic platform of the Eurasian Women's Forum. Its goal is to develop solutions for preserving, positioning and retransmitting folk values and traditions, to find new effective opportunities for their integration into education and enlightenment.
