At the IV Eurasian Women's Forum, a new type of eco-fabric developed by participants in the EWF Council project “Women in Light Industry” will be presented
During the business meeting “Women in Light Industry: Growth Potential,” members of the EWF Council spoke about the new generation of eco-fabrics made from Russian wood. It was developed by participants in the “Women in Light Industry” project.
According to the developers, the planned production volume will satisfy not only the needs of the domestic market, but will also make it possible to supply a new environmentally friendly type of fabric for export.
— As part of the presentation of the “Women in Light Industry” project on the sidelines of the IV Eurasian Women’s Forum, we will definitely show this development. I’m sure it will arouse great interest,” said Galina Karelova, Chairman of the EWF Council.
She also noted that the light industry as a whole is showing very good dynamics. Thus, in the first quarter of 2024, production growth was about 30%, wage growth relative to 2023 - from 15.8% to 21% in various sub-sectors.
According to Galina Karelova, this is an obvious consequence of the structural restructuring of the consumer market, effective government support measures and, of course, the efforts of talented entrepreneurs, the vast majority of whom are women.
“We can give many examples that show how the will, talent and initiative of women brought the enterprise to a high level,” Karelova emphasized. She also noted the work of such enterprises as the “First Weaving Factory” in the Nizhny Novgorod region, headed by Nadezhda Averina, the cotton mill “Shuya Calico” (general director Anna Bogadelina), the Melitopol clothing factory “BTL Expert” (executive director Anastasia Busel), etc.
— The project of the EWF Council “Women in Light Industry,” according to its participants and experts, certainly has an impact on the successful operation of enterprises and gives a powerful impetus to the creation of new materials and brands. We will develop it by connecting new partners, including foreign ones. I am sure that the IV Eurasian Women’s Forum will become a new stage in the history of the project,” concluded Galina Karelova.
