The fourth Eurasian Women's Forum featured a thematic session titled "Innovation and cooperation of women: the key to public health"

On September 19, as part of the second day of the fourth Eurasian Women's Forum, a thematic session entitled "Innovation and cooperation of women: the key to public health" was held. The speakers included Irina Abelskaya , member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Pavel Baskakov , CEO of NPF MATERIA MEDICA HOLDING LLC, Irina Zabolotnaya , Deputy Director of the Social Policy Department of Norilsk Nickel PJSC , Tamara Kozyreva , Director of the ANO Agency for the Development of Initiatives in Healthcare, Tatyana Mikhailova , Chief Specialist in Medical Prevention and Family Medicine of the Ministry of Health of the Belgorod Region , Irina Nekhoda , Acting Chief Physician of the State Healthcare Institution of the Republic of Khakassia “Republican Center for Public Health and Medical Prevention”, Anastasia Rogovenko , Regional Coordinator of the St. Petersburg Branch of the All-Russian Public Movement “Volunteer Doctors”, and Anastasia Stolkova , First Deputy Director for Development of the Roscongress Foundation and Head of the Healthcare Directorate .

The session participants discussed the main trends in healthcare and social development policy, which are currently being formed with the active participation of women. The session presented examples of successful social innovations, public projects and business initiatives in the field of healthcare not only in different regions of the Russian Federation, but also in entire countries.

Thus, Irina Abelskaya told how the system of medical care is built in Belarus. According to her, today a great emphasis in the republic is placed on the primary level of health care. If 7 years ago the country was moving towards closing feldsher-midwife stations, now this process has stopped, and the state policy is aimed at ensuring that medical care reaches every resident of the country. This is intended to be facilitated by high-quality mobile FAPs and good transport capabilities. Irina Abelskaya especially noted that the staffing level of medical personnel at the primary level of the health care system in Belarus is 92.4%.

At the same time, the Republic pays great attention to prevention and medical examination. Innovative projects are being implemented, including in the area of modernization of pharmaceutical enterprises. Thanks to this, Belarus today exports medicines to 47 countries of the world.

However, the country faces many challenges today, noted Irina Abelskaya . According to her, 1.5 thousand sanctions imposed on individuals and legal entities of the republic leave their mark on the speed of changes in the healthcare system. Therefore, representatives of the Belarusian healthcare system are looking for new vectors and directions of development. Their main partners are friends and colleagues from Russia. In addition, active cooperation with the People's Republic of China is developing. "Friendship, understanding, assistance, openness will lead us to a healthy society not only in a single country, but throughout the world. And this is the main task for all of us," the member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus summarized her speech.

Irina Zabolotnaya , Deputy Director of the Social Policy Department of PJSC Norilsk Nickel, in turn, spoke about how modern trends contribute to improving the quality of life of women and society as a whole from the position of a representative of a large corporation.

There are more than 24 thousand women working at Norilsk Nickel: this is about 30% of the employees. According to her, the company implements both measures to support working women established by Russian legislation and its own initiatives. However, a real breakthrough in the corporate social program occurred in 2020, when Norilsk Nickel began conducting full genome sequencing for the company's employees on a voluntary basis.

"This gives the company an understanding of what acute moments may happen to employees. In addition, this data is used to change prevention and sanatorium treatment programs," explained Irina Zabolotnaya . Today, the company already has about 20 thousand sequenced employees, and more than half of them are women.

"We are in favor of forming a personalized approach to medicine: this is the future," emphasized the representative of the corporation. "We are used to the fact that we have a medical history. But we need to form a health passport, entering data that will help solve problems in the future." Based on the results of genetic research, personalized prevention programs are developed. And geneticists are in touch with employees who have been identified as having high risks of genetic diseases.

"This is a contribution not only to the development of the company, but also to the development of science. We are ready to share this data," Irina Zabolotnaya summed up . It should be noted that directly at the session, she received an offer from the moderator of the discussion, director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "National Medical Research Center for Therapy and Preventive Medicine" of the Ministry of Health of Russia Oksana Drapkina, an offer to exchange databases of collected data and receive assistance from interpreters of genetic data, who will tell her how to build the right trajectory of prevention.
