What trends in the interests of women are being implemented in corporate programs and at the state level in Russia and the world? What are the modern approaches to personnel policy? How do social programs aimed at preserving the institution of the family work? These issues were discussed at the morning session as part of the third day of the fourth Eurasian Women's Forum.
“We have two global challenges: the first challenge is personnel, because by 2030 we need to involve 2,400,000 people in active professional activity, and the second challenge for Russia is demography,” said Olga Shchetinina, a senator of the Russian Federation from the executive body of state power of the Nizhny Novgorod region.
The Sibur company has introduced an interesting program to support retirement-age specialists. Experienced specialists from their company return to work on a flexible schedule and as mentors. In 2023 alone, 100 people returned to work — 55 of them women. The Delo company pays 1 million rubles to a mother or father who works at the company upon the birth of a third child.
Rosatom Corporation also has a number of corporate support programs for employees who have recently become parents, as well as specialists who have found themselves in a difficult life situation. The corporation, which has almost 400,000 employees, is especially proud of its leadership skills training program for women called "Invisible Power." Its participants will be able to build their own development strategy, get acquainted with leading leadership practices, and become part of a women's community that already numbers more than 3,000 people across the country. The program includes open webinars, educational podcasts with notes, mandatory homework, and discussions of various issues with experts in the field of leadership skills development.
The representative of the Qatar delegation said that their country has seen an increase in women's interest in higher education, with the percentage of students being 67.5 percent. In addition, many women work in government positions as ministers and ambassadors, as well as directors of large companies, and participate in judicial proceedings. For the first time, a woman began working in legislative bodies, and in particular, in the legislative assembly, and now for the first time, she has become a prosecutor.
Additional healthcare programs have been launched at the Sakhalin Energy LLC enterprise. This decision was made in response to the coronavirus pandemic. It was decided to pay special attention to women's health, which, among other things, affects the demographic situation in the country.
The recognition of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Plurinational State of Bolivia to the Russian Federation, Maria Luisa Ramos Urzagaste, surprised those gathered. She shared that at home, as a woman, she cannot feel safe and calm on the street after 6 pm. Therefore, the experience of her Russian colleagues in supporting women is extremely important and useful for her: "We need to communicate more, we need to understand each other, listen to each other. I am optimistic about the world and I think that together we can build a new, beautiful and more just world."
The Fourth Eurasian Women's Forum is taking place from September 18 to 20 in St. Petersburg. The organizers of the EWF are the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
