I. Svyatenko held a thematic session “The Mission of Women: from Motherhood to Serving the World”
Despite the high level of employment, women skillfully combine high results in their professional activities with motherhood and family responsibilities, the vice speaker of the Federation Council emphasized.
On the sidelines of the Eurasian Women's Forum, Deputy Chairperson of the Federation Council Inna Svyatenko held a thematic session "The Mission of Women: from Motherhood to Serving the World."
According to the vice-speaker of the Federation Council, despite the high level of employment, women skillfully combine high results in professional activities with motherhood and family responsibilities.
"Women work in various fields: they contribute to peacekeeping missions, protect the rights of citizens, fulfill their duty to the Motherland, work as doctors, signalmen, translators and much more. We have gathered here to discuss the unique roles of women in society, as well as to exchange experiences in serving peace," the parliamentarian noted.
The session was attended by State Secretary — Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia, Chairperson of the Fatherland Defenders Foundation Anna Tsivileva . According to her, women play a special role in Russia. “We all perceive the Motherland as a mother who preserves the memory of our ancestors. This gives us all a sense of security and safety. At all times, women supported men and participated in the defense of their country. And today they work as volunteers, in hospitals and in the SVO zone. In the Fatherland Defenders Foundation, 400 mothers and wives of our heroes have become social coordinators. Among them are those who have lost loved ones. But they found the strength to help others. SVO veterans themselves say that women give them the strength to move on. Today they protect their families — that is why women have an important mission. We must be worthy of their memory and honor, occupy an important place in the development of society,” said Anna Tsivileva.
Major General of Justice Elena Dunaeva spoke about why it is important and how to maintain a balance between family and work.
Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Vice-Rector for International Affairs of the University of Tehran Elham Aminzadeh touched upon the issue of increasing the number of women receiving education in the field of international relations and law, which contributes to their professional growth and participation in diplomacy.
Ariane Carol Bauer, Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia of the International Committee of the Red Cross, shared a female perspective on the implementation of the humanitarian mission .
Support from the state is necessary to combine professional and family responsibilities. Major General of Justice Natalia Agafieva spoke about what state support measures for women in the service of the Motherland exist and are still needed.
The Chairperson of the Belarusian Union of Women, Director of the Representative Office of the International Television and Radio Broadcasting Company “Mir” in Belarus, Olga Shpilevskaya, also spoke.
During the session, Elena Prokhorenko spoke - a woman whose family has been in service for a total of more than 100 years. Elena Yuryevna is the deputy company commander of the first special police regiment of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Moscow, a police major. She spoke about the role of family dynasties in choosing a profession.
A participant of the program "Time of Heroes", implemented by the Higher School of Public Administration of the Presidential Academy on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, Daria Svetyash, spoke at the meeting. In May of this year, she became one of four women included in the first stream of the first level of the personnel program "Time of Heroes", which is aimed at training highly qualified, competent managers from among the participants of the SVO for subsequent work in state and municipal authorities, as well as state-owned companies.
The finalist of the "Time of Heroes" program is undergoing an internship under the supervision of the Chairperson of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko. Darya Svetyash separately thanked her mentor for the opportunity to gain experience in the field of public activity and contribute to the development of the country.
Cadets from different countries study at Russian universities. For example, 630 cadets from 33 countries study at the S. M. Kirov Military Medical Academy in St. Petersburg. A cadet of the S. M. Kirov Military Medical Academy, a representative of Vietnam Vu Thi Lan also spoke . She explained why such an opportunity to study in another country is important.
During the session, Tatyana Gerasenkova, Vice President for Administrative and Legal Issues at Synergy Corporation, also spoke .
The Fourth Eurasian Women's Forum is taking place from 18 to 20 September in St. Petersburg. The organizers are the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
