The Fourth Eurasian Women's Forum may become a record number of guests

The list of participants is constantly growing, said Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko at a meeting of the Forum Organizing Committee. Delegations from almost 100 countries and all regions of Russia confirmed their participation. The organizing committee will strive to ensure record foreign representation in the entire history of the forum, despite the difficult logistics,” Matvienko said.

The content of the program of the Fourth Eurasian Women's Forum, which includes more than a hundred events, was prepared by the Council of the European Women's Federation. Today there are 32 projects in its project pool, the Speaker of the Federation Council told the meeting participants. They are dedicated to the mission of women in shaping a new agenda of peace and trust, preserving cultural diversity, developing the economy, technology and innovation, as well as addressing environmental issues and achieving social well-being.

Matvienko called the central theme of the upcoming review, “Women for building trust and global cooperation,” relevant given the request of the world majority countries for a more equitable order. She promised that the final document of the European Women's Federation would, according to tradition, be sent to the UN, as well as to heads of state, government, parliament, and heads of public and international organizations. The head of the upper chamber noted that there is always a response to such documents, so it must contain clear, succinct positions and recommendations.

According to the Chairman of the Federation Council, the summit participants should be imbued with the spirit of the history of St. Petersburg, as well as the unique multinational culture of Russia. Valentina Matvienko asked the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation to give proposals for organizing a cultural program for participants.

The Eurasian Women’s Forum is invariably distinguished by the spirit of mutual respect and partnership, and its holding has been supported by Russian President Vladimir Putin since the very first year, which gives the forum events a special, high status,” concluded Valentina Matvienko. The forum, she noted, has long crossed the borders of Eurasia, but what is important is not the name, but the attention and weight that it occupies in the global women's agenda.

It is the Eurasian Women’s Forum that makes it possible to convey to the whole world the solidary, creative position of the global women’s community. In addition, the forum can be considered one of the important elements of Russia’s soft power. This is a good opportunity to show our country, our achievements, our openness to the world,” the Federation Council speaker concluded.
