Nifontova at the Eurasian Women's Forum: "It is no longer possible to imagine races with empty stands in motorsports"
Russian racer, two-time world champion in rally raids, pilot of the G-Drive Racing team Anastasia Nifontova spoke at the thematic session "Social projects as a driver of development" of the fourth Eurasian Women's Forum with a report on the development of motorsport. She noted that thanks to the support of the state and business, motorsport in Russia continues to actively develop. The racer emphasized the importance of sports for harmonious personal growth and gave examples of successful competitions - from circuit racing to phygital racing and cyber championships.
As the only woman to complete the Dakar Rally without technical support, Nifontova has highlighted the growing participation of women in motorsports. In addition to being a driver for the G-Drive Racing team, she also leads a team of engineers and mechanics, setting an example of successful leadership in a male-dominated field.
According to Anastasia, one of the ways to popularize motorsport is to create platforms for training and developing young talents. Nifontova cited the long-term partnership of G-Drive and G-Energy with SMP Racing, which allows them to hold circuit racing competitions for speed and endurance, cyber championships, train young specialists and develop racing infrastructure.
"Thanks to such initiatives, young people are becoming more and more interested in competitions at a professional level. In motorsports, it is no longer possible to imagine races with empty stands. More and more children and young people are asking their parents to enroll them in karting or motorsports, and future students are choosing racing engineering as their specialty," she noted.
One of the important areas of Anastasia's work is the study of fuel and motor oil characteristics under maximum loads during competitions and training. The results of these tests allow developing new formulas and products that will help not only professional racers, but also owners of civilian cars, improving the performance of their cars and increasing safety on the road.
The Fourth Eurasian Women's Forum is taking place from September 18 to 20 in St. Petersburg. The organizers are the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States. The operator for the preparation and holding of the event is the Roscongress Foundation.
