A meeting of the Organizing Committee of the Eurasian Women's Forum and the Council of the EWF was held

Chairperson of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko held a joint meeting of the Organizing Committee of the Fourth Eurasian Women's Forum and the EWF Council under the upper house of parliament. The event is organized by the Federation Council and the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the CIS. The operator is the Roscongress Foundation.

According to the speaker of the Federation Council, the fourth Eurasian Women's Forum was brilliant, noticeable, and productive. Valentina Matviyenko emphasized that the speech of Russian President Vladimir Putin was one of the main events of the forum, which set the tone for the entire work. "We saw again with what attention, respect, and enthusiasm the forum participants greeted the head of state."

According to her, several records were broken again this year - both in the number of participants and in the number of events that took place at the forum and in its run-up. "We brought together women leaders from 126 countries and representatives of 21 international organizations. We gathered a multi-million audience on the Internet. More than 6 million people watched the broadcasts on the VKontakte social network alone, and almost 500 thousand viewers watched the plenary session."

Valentina Matviyenko believes that they managed to cover a wide range of topics, including economics, culture, sports, and international cooperation. She recalled the meeting of the Women's Twenty, the first BRICS Women's Forum. "At the forum, the winners of ten competitions were awarded and two new ones were launched, including the Green Future competition, our joint initiative with Rosatom."

The SF Chairperson noted that the forum had become an important platform for holding bilateral meetings, and a number of agreements on cooperation and strengthening international ties had been signed. "We are currently finalizing the Final Document of the forum. We will send it to the UN, leading international organizations, heads of state and parliaments, and participants in the BRICS Summit."

The Speaker of the Federation Council announced the start of preparations for the fifth Eurasian Women's Forum. "One of the proposals, given the richness of the forum's program, is to go beyond the Tauride Palace. I am sure that in contact with partners, the authorities of St. Petersburg, we could expand the list of sites. This would make the Forum's program more capacious and compact in time, without losing the quality of work, and hold all events, for example, over two days. At the same time, the "headquarters" of the Eurasian Women's Forum will certainly remain in the Tauride Palace," Valentina Matviyenko explained.

She also recalled that the initiatives voiced at the Forum included the establishment of the title of Ambassador of the Eurasian Women's Forum, the launch of the "Woman Leader" program stream for the BRICS countries, and the launch of the "Women for the Preservation of Traditions" festival at the international level.

Chairperson of the EWF Council Galina Karelova believes that, like the previous ones, the fourth Eurasian Women's Forum will find continuation and development in new projects and initiatives. "12 diverse international agreements have been concluded - from joint scientific research in the field of biomedicine and the creation of joint production for the production of pharmaceutical substances to cooperation in more than 10 areas with women parliamentarians from Africa and Arab countries."

According to her, the forum gave a strong impetus to the development of cooperation with the BRICS countries thanks to the organization of the First Women's Forum of the countries of the association on the sidelines of the EWF-24. "Among the initiatives that should be implemented in the near future," said the senator, "is the expansion of the "geography" of the BRICS Women's Business Alliance to a number of CIS countries, holding an international competition of environmental women's projects in the BRICS countries and the "Talented Woman in Modern Industry" competition, and the inclusion of schools in the BRICS countries in the children's diplomacy project "Embassy of the Future."

According to Galina Karelova, the very atmosphere of the fourth Eurasian Women's Forum testified to the mutual desire of representatives of different countries to continue working together. "The forum has enormous potential, which should contribute to strengthening the role of women in various spheres, but first and foremost in forming interaction between countries based on partnership and trust," she noted.

ВThe meeting was attended by member of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Elena Afanasyeva, coordinator of the EWF Council project "Russian Compatriots Abroad", Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Ekaterina Priezzheva, head of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency Veronika Skvortsova, CEO of the Russian Export Center Veronika Nikishina, coordinator of the EWF Council project "Women's Health - Welfare of the Nation" Oksana Drapkina, coordinator of the project "Community of the Eurasian Women's Forum in the Digital Environment" Elina Isagulova, and chairperson of the board of directors of the Russian Franchising Association Agnessa Osipova.

At the end of the meeting, the coordinators of the EWF Council projects and the forum participants were presented with Letters of Gratitude from the Chairman of the Federation Council.
